Posse/This Bitch Don't Fall Off/Night Worship (OAK) May, Friday the 13th @ the Rendezvous Doors at 9//////$5-15, 21+ Posse: "Posse are fully formed at six months. The boy-girl vocals are reminiscent of bothYo La TengoandVersus. Sacha Maxim has such a sweet voice that makes me weak in the knees the way Fontain Toups and Bridget Cross use to do and Paul Witmann kinda sounds like Mark Mulcahy ofMiracle Legion. There’s a slight jangle and country element with a hint of ramshackle to their sound that conjures up so many great bands of the past..." -http://finestkiss.wordpress.com/ Posse- Interesting Thing No. 1
This Bitch Don't Fall Off: Big garage sound, fronted by screamer/shouter/erstwhile guitarist Baby Hand the sultry Miss Greta Garbones. The two spend shows competing for the audience's attention. Brothers Bernard and Butler Harris, who have been playing for years with their Daddy, comprise the rhythm section. They keep the band droning on along. If the brothers are the mortar in TBDFO's wall of sound then Wet Willie's guitar work is the bricks. All come together to create a monolithic sound.
NIGHT WORSHIP: performing, "The Seal of Babalon" a 30 minute epic comprised of heavy drones, psychedelic soundscapes and ritualistic black metal. This piece is a setting of text drawn from Aleister Crowley's Leiber XV, better known as his Gnostic Mass.
We still need to go back and do some overdubs with the vocals and perhaps some guitar. Fun night. Thanks to Wet Willie's parents for unknowingly hosting.
This Bitch... has been asked to open for Dyme Def and members of Ravenna Woods, Chris and Brantley. The show is Friday, March 25th at 9 pm. We will be playing at the Columbia City Theatre. I hope to see you guys there.
